How can I fix my thyroid?Â
One of those common things that we get asked about all the time is how come my thyroid isn’t better? What can I do to fix it? Most people, and by the way most doctors, are very confused about how to treat it. They don’t run all the right tests. And if you don’t know what you’re looking for, you don’t know how to fix it.Â
Then it becomes just a stressful situation. So le me ask you this, do you or do you know anyone who’s suffering from thyroid issues? This includes things like loss of the lateral third of your eyebrow hair, no hair on your legs, fatigue, anxiety, depression. Do you crave sugars all the time? Do you have to have coffee all the time to keep yourself going? Are you having trouble losing weight? Getting cold all the time?
Those are just some of the mini symptoms that people have when dealing with thyroid problems. The problem is the thyroid is an ordinance. But you’ve got to understand there’s so much more about health and I’m going to get into some basic thyroid one-on-one stuff.
I’ve got a master class on the thyroid that not only can you take, but I have other doctors that take these classes so that they can actually help their patients become more engaged on how they can fix the thyroid themselves. I’m going to give you an opportunity to learn on a level that’s so much deeper than this.
Treat the cause not the symptom
So I always talk about how the quality of your health is in direct proportion to the health of yourself. If you have healthy cells, you’re going to have a healthy body. So we have trillions of cells; somewhere around 37 trillion cells make up the human body. Those cells make tissue. So if we have healthy cells, we have healthy tissue. If we have healthy tissue, we can help the organs like the thyroid.Â
This is what I want you to understand. Don’t make it just about your organs. It’s about your cellular health. If you cells are bad, your tissues are bad, and your organ is going to be bad. Like the thyroid. Then you’re going to have a sick organism, which is you, a sick human.
And then you’re going to get all the symptoms that are out there. And this is what 99% of all doctors and people out there treat. The symptoms. I want you to understand that it’s about the cause of the problem. Even deeper than the cellular health, it’s about the DNA, the genetics. If we get healthy cells, over time the organ can regenerate itself.
Testing for thyroid problems
First of all, we talk a lot about different body types and a thyroid body type is typically a body type where the body just kind of gets heavy all over. We don’t just get weight in the belly or in the hips. It’s in the whole body. This is where the rubber hits the road with most of your doctors. You have any kind of the symptoms of weight gain, fatigue, numbness, tingling in your fingers, cold hands and feet, poor circulation, constipation, all that kinds of stuff that leads down to the thyroid.
Usually your doctor will run one or two simple tests. They run what’s called the TSH and a T3. If TSH is high, then you have a hypo-thyroid. If the TSH is low then you have a hyper thyroid. Now that tells you literally one out of a hundred pieces of what could possibly be going on with the thyroid.
The doctor did one simple test and they said, "oh, your thyroid's not functioning. It's hypo." They never found out why it wasn't functioning. They never gave you solutions to treat the cause of the problem.
Â
I want you to understand that so many people are just like you or your friends or your family members or your spouse that went to their doctor with symptoms of a bad thyroid. The doctor did one simple test and they said, “oh, your thyroid’s not functioning. It’s hypo.” They never found out why it wasn’t functioning. They never gave you solutions to treat the cause of the problem.
They just give you a medication, typically something called Synthroid. And how many of you have been put on a medication for thyroid, or know people that have, and nothing changed? Or maybe you felt a little different for a couple of weeks, but then your old symptoms came back. It’s very common, and one of the most frustrating thing. There’s so much more than just the TSH and thyroid, so let me help you down the rabbit hole just a little bit.
WHAT THE THYROID DOES WHEN IT’S HEALTHY
The way the thyroid works. The thyroid is a bow tie organ that lives at the base of your neck. The brain sends a chemical to your thyroid, and that chemical is called the Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH). That is the test that doctors have been trained to run, but it’s non-inclusive. It just tells us if there’s something wrong. It doesn’t tell us why.
The thyroid makes a chemical called T4. That chemical passes through the liver adrenals, the ovaries, the testes, the liver, and gallbladder. Those are the primary pathways that the T4 has to go through to make this thing called T3. This is the usable form of the thyroid.
T3 is what helps your body burn fat as fuel. It helps your body have metabolic circulation. It keeps your body from freezing cold. It helps your body grow, helps your body digest. When we have a problem somewhere in the thyroid cascade, we have to find the cause of the problem.
The TSH could be off. If there’s a problem in the brain, if you’ve had a brain injury, if you’ve had multiple concussions, you’ve had head injuries, you’ve got tumors or something crazier. That could be the cause of TSH being high or low, but that’s like less than 1% of the people that are out there.
The other 99 % of the cause of thyroid issues is somewhere downstream. Now it can also be in the genetics. You can have what’s called a single nucleotide polymorphism, or an SMP that’s abnormal. And we can test for that and we can show you how to do that, but most likely the problem is somewhere downstream.Â
OTHER POSSIBLE CAUSES
Let’s look at the pancreas for example. The pancreas does a lot of things in the body, but it’s primarily responsible for sugar. Many people are eating the standard American diet that’s filled with glycine and is filled with a bunch of sugar processed foods and other junk. So when the pancreas gets overloaded with poor diet and it’s not working, the T4 can’t process through the pancreas and insulin levels like it’s supposed to. That can lead to Metabolic Syndrome. That’s when people get an imbalance in their cholesterol.
Their waist circumference is bigger than it should be. They get high blood pressure and other issues go with all of that because that insulin dependent area isn’t working like it’s supposed to. In the masterclass I’ll go deeper. I’ll show you all the blood tests that need to be done in a wellness profile that you can go to the lab and do yourself.
Let’s talk about the kidneys and the adrenal glands. They do a lot of the filtering of the blood. It’s why a lot of people that get high blood pressure, have thyroid issues. Usually it’s the kidney pathway. The organ that sits on top of the kidneys is known as the adrenal glands. These guys are responsible for all your sexual hormones. They’re responsible for your metabolism of your minerals and metabolism of the salts. So if you have issues with hormones or you have issues with getting dizzy when you stand, that’s called orthostatic hypotension. If these are blocked the T3 doesn’t get produced and we don’t get energy.Â
If you're over the age of 35, you're not producing enzymes. If you're not producing enzymes, the gallbladder can't work. You can't synthesize the fat, the hormones don't work.
Â
We can do a blood test to look at liver function and gallbladder. You see a lot of people that say they don’t have one so it can’t be an issue. Well, let me let you in on a secret. If your gallbladder wasn’t a problem, you probably would still have the darn thing. But the reality is, the reason why you don’t have a gallbladder is because you body’s not breaking down and digesting fats like it’s supposed to. The liver does over 300 enzymatic things in the body.Â
So if the liver’s not balancing outright, like it’s supposed to, we’re going to get issues with blood pressure. We’ll get issues with cholesterol. If you’re over the age of 35, you’re not producing enzymes. If you’re not producing enzymes, the gallbladder can’t work. You can’t synthesize the fat, the hormones don’t work.
So if you suspect your thyroid is bad, the thyroid is what’s called a secondary organ. It’s usually out of balance because of a primary issue with the gallbladder, the liver, the ovaries, the testes, adrenals, kidneys, pancreas, and so many other things.
THE HEALTH TRIANGLE
So there’s so much that goes on with the thyroid. And I teach in the masterclass that health really is a balance in your triangle. Health is supposed to be an equally drawn out triangle. You’ve got 33% of your health as your emotional wellbeing. 33% of your health is your physical wellbeing. And 33% of your health is chemical balance.
The supplement that we created a while back for our patients in our clinics is the Thyroid Boost Pack. It’s got support for the adrenals, and the kidneys. The small intestine is a huge component to this. That’s why we put the probiotics and all the right bacterial stuff in here. If you have gas, heartburn reflux, if you swell after you eat or if you’re exhausted, your small intestine is probably messing up the thyroid.
THE THYROID MASTERCLASS
That’s what we teach in the masterclass. So if you’ve not registered for the masterclass, click here. I go deep. I teach you how to think well, move well, eat well, sleep well so that you will be well. It’s not a mystery. It’s a mystery to so many doctors, but the reason why is because they ‘ve never been properly trained. I’ve helped thousands, tens of thousands of men and women get their thyroid back online by doing the right things and changing their lifestyle products.
The thyroid pack is amazing. I’ve got a ton of my patients on this and they do really great with it, but they have got to learn the other stuff that goes with it. If you can’t tell, I get super passionate about the thyroid. Especially when it comes to talking about the cause. I love whenever people go, “why didn’t anybody ever explain that to me?” I love watching that light turn on.
If we get healthier as a whole, we get healthy ourselves. Then our tissue can repair. Then our organs get better. So stop focusing on the symptoms and start focusing on the cause. Don’t miss this masterclass, ladies and gentlemen. Click this link, and share it with your family and friends.
I look forward to hearing the success for you and your family. I’m Dr. Eric, God bless you, God bless America, and God bless the world. Stay smart out there.
I’m planning future lives and want to make sure to talk about what people want to hear. Ask me a question and I’ll answer them soon!
